purple veggies - thumbnail

I like growing interesting stuff in the garden. Favorites include purple plants: beans, peppers, and carrots. The carrots aren’t quite ready to be picked yet.

How come grocery stores don’t sell these things? I think it might help parents get young kids to eat their veggies, don’t you? We now have purple ketchup, why not beans?

In case you’re wondering, whenever any of these things are cooked (beans or peppers, haven’t tried cooking the carrots) they lose the purple. The beans turn dark green; the peppers turn almost white.
