no more ice-cream?

Yes. That’s right. If you speak “proper” English according to the Oxford Dictionary, there’s no such thing as ice-cream any more. Chill, don’t be a cry-baby, wait, that’s crybaby–there’s still plenty of ice cream.

Apparently the folks that publish the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary have shortened 16,000 words by removing the hyphens.

Come to think of it, I think I’ve always written ice cream instead of ice-cream. In fact bought a small ice cream maker a few years ago stating “Ice Cream” on the front. Well, it’s good to know that we’re not spelling it “wrong” anymore.
